St. Patty's Day Links

Happy Leap Day! Hope you are enjoying this extra day added onto the calendar! As you probably know, if you've blogged for any period of time, seasonal projects tend to get buried rather quickly. The internet has an exceedingly short memory, much like myself, imagine how happy I was when I ran across my garland today. I had forgotten all about it! I clipped my clover to my wreath on the back door, I still think that is a great project. So since even I forgot these projects, I thought you might have as well....so I thought I would share some St. Patty's day links with you from yore. :) I have recently learned how to make images clickable, so just click the photos that interest you below and you will be taken directly to that post, fun right? If you have visted my tutorial page recently, you probably have noticed I'm converting all my tutes to clickable images. It has become a tedious task, so it's taking me forever, so bare with me.
I have an appointment with the oncologist tomorrow morning, I hope I like this new guy....I'm just glad I don't have to drive across the state or fly across the country for an appointment!
Anyway, enjoy the links and have a great day!

Lucky Tablescape

Welcome! Thank you for stopping by!

This is the wreath that started it all. I decided to combine turquoise in with St Patrick's Day, so it wasn't too green and it led me to add it on this up and coming occasions table scape too!

I love the combination!

Very simple setting. I thought the design on the white salad plates were reminiscent of four leaf clovers...

For a quick and easy pop of color, I painted Terra cotta pots with Krylons spray paint in Ocean Breeze {Love this paint!}...I used them for candle holders with reindeer moss and place setting markers with green Gerber daisies {the little baby kind}.

I hung this 'Lucky' banner that I made across my hutch, if would like to learn how to make one for yourself click here! Of course, no St. Patty's Day table scape would be complete with out Bells of Ireland. Though artificial, the real ones are one of my favorite flower.

My Lucky clover makes an appearance too!

Thank you Susan for hosting!

I'm linking up with these ladies too! Thanks!

Lucky Garland

Before Easter completely envelopes my creative mind, I wanted to share a couple more St Patty's Day projects with you.

I hung this garland across the front of my hutch using little suction cups, I use a lot of green and white anyway so it really looks at home!

What you'll need:

Chipboard Letters

Cardstock

Crepe Paper

Modge Podge

{Old} Book paper or scrapbook paper

Jute twine

Embellishments

Ok! Let's get started!

I didn't happen to have green chipboard letters on hand, so I painted some blue ones I have. Chipboard takes paint very well. Two coats of leaf green craft paint is perfect.

I chose the word "lucky", but you can chose any word or phrase you like! How about "Erin Go Bragh" (Ireland Forever)? That would be fun!

Cut 3'' circles from card stock in a cream or white color.

Using Mod Podge, cover the circle with scrapbook paper or pages from an old book. Glitter the edges while it's still wet. I use Sulyn's 'Crystal' glitter. It's my fave and use it on almost everything. I have found it at Hobby Lobby and even Walmart.

Now that your chipboard letters are dry, glue them to the middle of the circles.

Using green crepe paper, create a ruffle behind the circle. I used Mod Podge as my adhesive, I just randomly ruffled, it doesn't have to be perfect. If you have uneven ruffles, just trim up with scissors. I love this bright green crepe paper, found at Hobby Lobby.

Cut approximately 1 1/2 yards of jute twine. This is what you will attach your ruffled circles to. I just eye-balled it and glued the jute to the back of each circle. Here's a tip: to keep the garland hanging nicely, glue towards the top of the circle. The circles won't have that spinning effect that sometimes happens.

To clean up the back of the circles and add some additional strength, cut a secondary 3'' circle to glue on the back of each circle. Just to make sure the crepe paper and jute stay nice and tidy.

Now it's time to embellish! Let your imagination go! I used buttons, foil shamrocks, and of course glitter to really doll up the letters. Really this part is up to you interpretation! I cut the foil shamrocks off of the wire garland I had left over from making the St. Patty's Day wreath.

That's it! St. Patty's Day Garland. Check!

I was having so much fun creating my garland, that I decided to put together a scrapbook page while I was at it. Paper crafting and scrap booking go hand in hand, why not!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you're inspired!

Maybe we'll make one for Easter!!

Boxwood Wreath: St. Patty's Day

When I made this boxwood wreath for Christmas last year, little did I know how fun it would be to transform seasonally. For Christmas, I kept it pretty plain and simple...with a handmade monogram and ribbonFor Valentine's, transformed with ribbon, hearts and heart garland...very festive!

...and now for St Patty's Day: clover garland, ribbon and my little handmade lucky clover transforms it once again!

Now I know that turquoise isn't a traditional St.Patty's Day color, but when you try to put all green on a green boxwood wreath, it gets, well: green. Really, really, REALLY green!

I must say that I really love the combination!

Easter next???

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're inspired!
