We have some catching up to do, don't we? I've named several post 'Random Stuff' so for a change, today it's 'Arbitrary Things'. Such is life. :)
Soon after my last post, I caught a beast of a cold, probably amplified due to my low red blood cells....finally this past week I was feeling better. Of course I start my fifth round of chemo tomorrow, so it won't last for long. Ugh.
Anywho, I stopped in at TJ Maxx (to see what was new) and picked up a new rug for the kitchen. It has the perfect chartreuse green that I love and a dark grey that is the perfect in between wall color and lower cabinet color grey.
Love the beautiful ikat pattern too. We'll see how long it stands up. :)I finally found a fabric I like for one of my little vintage chairs. I found it at Hobby Lobby. It was a little steep for my frugal self, but I needed less than a yard and the chair itself was so inexpensive. I did take it to an upholstery shop, but the cost was $90.00. Needless to say, I will be attempting the job myself. (I found that beautiful pillow at THIS Etsy shop.)
I made some new curtains for the living room. I loved the fabric that John and Sherry used for their master bedroom headboard and thought it would make great curtains as well. It really lightened and brightened the living room a lot! I ordered it online, you can take a look at it HERE.
Isn't it beautiful? I love the grey in it, which is what won me over....it talks to the Bedford Grey on the walls in the kitchen.
I've also started Fall wreaths!! Fall will be here before we know it. Plus, I've got to get a head start knowing how long it takes for me to recover from chemo.

Sorry, this one sold. ^

Thank you so much for your continued thoughts and prayers! I really appreciate it. Talk to you soon!
Hope your next round doesn't totally wipe you out. I can't imagine what you're going through but I've had illnesses before so I have a general idea. I'll pray for you. Love this post. Might have to buy one of those gorgeous Fall wreaths this year. I do believe that is how I found your blog in the first place. Peace, Carol

Love the curtains you made--they are lovely! I am not ready for fall--I am going to hang onto summer and the colors I love. But smart of you to get a head start..you are so organized! I want to have a pink Christmas tree this year so I have been thinking I had better start working on it...Christmas in July! Wishing you well wishes as always---
ReplyDeleteI love all the updates to your home. The curtain fabric is so pretty! Hope your next round is a piece of cake…thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing some lovely work for Fall. The lumbar pillow and fabric are so DARLING. I am coming here late to hear about your chemo. I wish you the best and am saying a prayer for you right now! Your positive attitude is a benefit. It helped me 17 years ago with breast cancer. Still going strong! Good luck, Cutie.
ReplyDeleteLove your new rug, the fabric for the chair and especially love the curtain fabric. It's so funny because I saw that fabric on a chair and fell in love. Tracked it down but it was quite pricey and wanted to see if my husband approved. Right after I found it, I saw John and Sherry use it on the headboard and saw it on another blog and now yours. I love the price of your as well...much cheaper than what I found. I may be able to do it after all!! :)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your next round of treatments. You've been in my prayers.

Your drapes, fabrics & wreaths are all SO pretty. And your photography is stunning, as usual. I will continue to pray for you through round 5, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks beautiful, wreaths are gorgeous! Wishing you the best for your next round.
ReplyDeleteI'd say you are doing great! Look at all you've accomplished and how beautiful everthing is too! Wow! I can't even think about Fall...but glad you are...your wreaths are lovely. Just prayed for you to overcome the downers of chemo and that your current energy level well-being will stay inspite of the chemicals injected in your veins.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!!!
Beautiful curtains! I was just thinking this week that I should just start trying to decorate for Christmas and skip fall because we have a full kitchen remodel going on this summer. But then I saw your wreaths and maybe if I start now, I could at least do a wreath! Thanks for the inspiration! I have been and will continue to pray for you!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you are back to feeling better again and back at blogging!! I've never commented before, but you are in my daily thoughts and prayers!! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I always start out trying to be thrifty with my projects but then I just LIKE the more expensive fabric or paint or knobs, so I get them.
