Christmas Tree 2012

It is officially Christmastime at the Edwards house, the tree is done! This year, if you read THIS post, you know I'm trying to take a stress-less approach to the Holiday season. So with the whole decorating thing, I took my time.....but I've gotten the glitter vacuumed up and I'm ready to reveal the Christmas Tree of 2012.  If you remember the tree from last year, you will definitely notice a slight difference in this years tree. First, it's a completely different tree! How's that for different! :) After 17 years of decorating trees as part of my career, we broke down and bought a pre-lit hinged Christmas tree. After dealing with the ginormous yard sale tree (and the massive undertaking of lighting it) last year, I knew that I couldn't handle it this year, so we bought a nice small tree WITH lights! I decided to donate the other tree, by the way. I had this puppy up in less than 15 minutes.

A lot of the ornaments are handmade from over the years. I made these snowflakes using Stephanie Lynn's tutorial. Click HERE to see her tutorial. Yep, those are clothespins!
The little mushroom ornament is new this year.  Isn't it cute?
Very neutral, with a lot of browns and metallics with a tiny bit of green.
I don't know what is up with me this year, but just like the front door, I didn't use any ribbon. See more of the mantle HERE.

 Anywhere.

 Some evening shots.

I hope you are inspired!

    1. Thank you Deb! That's probably why mine is so full....I just keep adding and making and making and adding, but I gravitate towards the woodland stuff all the time, I love it when I see ornaments on the market to feed my obsession.

  9. Stunning! I love how every branch is fulled with pretties. My tree looks positively bare in comparison. I think next year I'll have to add some more.

  13. Oh wow!! You are truly gifted in your artistry. This tree looks absolutely stunning. No. No ribbon I've been searching kind of like that old book Where's Waldo? But truly I think a little someone thinks that the tree is not missing ribbon...he's waiting for something else to appear under it!!!
    Love and prayers,

    1. Hee. hee Gwen! If I put anything under the tree now, it wouldn't last until Christmas Day! "Mom, when can I open my presents?" over and over and over....:)

  16. This is stunning without the ribbon! I too use ribbon in my Christmas decor but may have to rethink it next year! Love the use of the browns and neutrals. I have an old artificial tree that stays up in my sunroom all year. I call it my family tree and it has quotes and family photos displayed on it. I'm going to redo it and freshen it up this winter and your color scheme will be perfect in there. Right now it has lots of rusty reds on it but I'm tired of the look and short of taking it completely down, you've inspired me to change it and leave it up!

  19. Very good blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I'm hoping to start my own site soon but I'm a
little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option?
There are so many options out there that I'm completely confused .. Any suggestions? Bless you!

  24. What kind of glue did you use on the stars? I made some, but I had a horrible time with hot glue. Thanks! :)

    1. Most of the ornaments are hand tied. I don’t remember any of the stars requiring glue.

  25. Also, did you spray "snow" on the branches in spots or are those add ins I am seeing?
