I'll Be Back.....

Even after all this time writing here, I really struggle with how personal to get or how much I share of myself, you know, beyond paint colors or a new rug. I am always in awe of the women that share themselves so openly, like Kelly and Kelle, just to name a couple. I could learn so many things from those two. Anyway.... ....I just want to let you know that things will be very quiet around here for a while. How long? I'm not sure. I will be having surgery next week, this Monday to be exact, to remove a tumor. Luckily, it is not a cancerous tumor, but a tumor nonetheless. Apparently, it is quite large and has been happily growing on my adrenial gland for quite some time. It has gotten big enough to make me sick, smoosh all my organs up, raise my blood pressure and give me terrible headaches. They will be removing the adrenial gland and tumor that is attached to it and the adrenial gland on the right side of my body (apparently we have two) will hopefully take up the slack of all the adrenial jobs (it has several). I don't want to bore you with all the mundane details but I am expected to make a full recovery and hopefully get back to my normal self.
See, that's the part that I don't share here, I haven't been normal lately. Ha, ha! Just kidding, I have been sick for several months now and while I feel quite anxious about the surgery and all that means, I really hope that I will bounce back quickly and be back to my old tricks soon. I have never had open surgery before so I'm not really sure what to expect, so I'll just play it by ear, like most things.

Thankfully, I have my husbands wonderful family around me and even my sister is flying in from NC to help me when I get home (she's always taken such good care of me!)! I am actually so excited to see her, it's been so long! So bare with me, I have so many things that I want to do and want to share! Surgeries are such an inconvenience!! :) Thank you so much for reading and sticking around , I'll be back!

  10. I'll be thinking of you and saying a prayer, Michelle! Surgery is an inconvenience and scary, but sometimes a necessity. One I had to plan ahead for {a partial hysterectomy} and one was an emergency {appendicitis}. The one relieved a lot of pain that I had been in, though, so I'm not sorry I had it done voluntarily. These were both over the past five years, too, and I'd never had surgery before. Big hugs, because I know how you are feeling!

I'm sorry you've been struggling and I'm saying a prayer that the surgery goes very smoothly and recovery is quick. Take care and come back when you are feeling better.

  30. My friend had a non cancerous tumor in her head and was very scared too. But it went all well, after only one week of hospital she could go home! She is doing fine now and does not have headaches anymore. Don't worry, you will be fine too! I know it's a hard time, even though it was not me who needed the operation, I was pretty shaken up for my friend. But it will all be fine! The docs do wonders those days;-)

  38. Michelle, know that God is there holding you in His hands & you will be fine ... lucky for that non-serious tumor. I think there is a fine line between sharing & putting your whole life out front ... just be comfortable for yourself with where you want to go with exposure.

God speed my friend, prayers will be lifting for you.

    Happy April ~

  63. Hi there. So I am a fellow Pheochromocitoma(?) been a while so I can't remember if I spelled it right, survivor. Mine cost me a kidney as well due to the fact that the doctors kept telling me my symptoms were A) due to a different reason, B) when they couldn't figure it out they basically implied it was all in my head. I would love to compare notes on our mutual experiences. Let me just put your mind at ease. Other than feeling pretty weak afterwards my symptoms were all gone in less than 20 hours. I went from needing insulin every 4 hours etc to being told my blood sugar was low and to get some sugar in me. I wish you well and look forward to hearing how you made out. PS I had to post as anonymous because no other option would work

Looking forward to seeing your next beautiful creation... xo Lynda

  70. Michelle, I hope you get better soon! I actually had the exact same surgery when I was in college, just on the other side. I was told it's rare and called Conn's Syndrome. I was really sick with super high blood pressure and terrible headaches. It took a while to find, but when they did, they did surgery asap and it was tough, but my symptoms completely went away after surgery and I've been fine ever since, the other one kicked in and took care of it! :) Best wishes for a quick recovery!
