I couldn't wait to show you what I found this past weekend! An unframed original piece of artwork of my favorite subject, the ocean. I have been enamored with vintage paintings for quite some time. I have NEVER EVER found any until this weekend!
I also found a smallish watercolor and grabbed it up too. I think it is so fantastic!
They are both signed, by some unknown artist. I just love how both the paintings feel, some story that I'll never know, some cast offs from a painters sketchbook. I love to think there is some mysterious and sentimental story attached to each one. I wonder what it is! :)
Those are beautiful! I wonder too about who actually painted them and their story. One will never know, but fun to think about. Can't wait to see what you'll do with them.
ReplyDeleteWent to garage sale to support our high school band and found a goodie on the side of the road. If the humidity would calm down then I could paint some. Have a great week.

those are wonderful finds! i really love the painting by your driftwood lamp...very cozy together!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paintings! Really love the first one with the waves!
ReplyDeleteLove that 1st one, and the 2nd one is nice too! Did you google the artist? There was an article recently that someone bought a $6 painting in a Cary, NC Goodwill, and it turned out being worth around $1k, so it might be worth checking out.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I wonder if you can google the artist and find anything? It is so hot here that going out thrifting doesn't appeal at all. We actually had to be at the household auction of my in-law's things on Saturday and that was a long, hot day!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is first one with the beautiful waves.
